Resumen


La inhalación de diferentes agentes en el lugar de trabajo puede ser causa de asma o empeorar un asma ya existente. La primera situación en la que la inhalación de un agente en el lugar del trabajo es directamente responsable de que un individuo padezca asma, es lo que se conoce como asma ocupacional (AO), mientras que la segunda situación, en la que la inhalación de un agente en el lugar del trabajo conlleva un empeoramiento de un asma ya existente o concomitante, es lo que se conoce como asma agravada por el trabajo (AAT).
